Vidrodzhenia - Renaissance the Ukrainian mixed voice choir... was created through the passionate need and enthusiasm to preserve and rekindle Ukrainian music.
With the collapse of the Soviet Empire... new singing talent with in-depth knowledge of Ukrainian singing has emerged.
This talent is spearheaded by... Vidrodzhenia's Musical Director Halyna Savchyn. Vidrodzhenia is one of the only choirs in the United Kingdom that can boast that is taught by a fully qualified Ukrainian Conductor with over twenty five years of Ukrainian music in her blood.
Vidrodzhenia's
style...
is reflected in Halyna's training and understanding
of Ukrainian music. The style is different from
the heavy military influence which was brought to the United Kingdom by Ukrainian immigrants.
There is a conscious return to the gentle melodic and deeply expressive Ukrainian singing form.
This is demonstrated in Vidrodzhenia's sung church services, traditional
